In late January, Fox 45 TV news (Baltimore) reported that a DC man wielded an axe in an attempted home invasion in December 2023 and now was on the "Most Wanted" list.
The incident took place in Hyattsville, MD, northeast of Washington, DC.
A woman inside the home detailed a chilling attack. In court documents, the victim describes the suspect as hacking through her front door with an axe. According to investigators, the woman with her daughter held the door from being opened.
When the axe failed, the suspect later went back to his car, fired a gunshot into the air, and drove off in his vehicle.
The suspect was identified as a 32-year-old man, Deandre Wright, on federal parole following a 2021 weapon possession conviction.
Warrants were issued for Wright the following day.
Authorities are now asking the public for any information concerning tracking down the suspect.
It is thought that he may be armed and dangerous.
