Bank Robbery In Easton, Maryland: Police Request Help

The Easton Police and Caroline County and the FBI are investigating a bank robbery that occurred on Monday afternoon, June 2, in Easton ,Maryland at Bay Vanguard Bank. 

The Easton Police are asking for the public’s help.  

For all you tech-savvy door-camera owners and commercial buildings security camera owners in the vicinity near Bay Vanguard Bank at 501 Idlewild Avenue in Easton, Maryland and adjacent neighborhoods start looking at your video tapes. Check between noon - 4pm. Suspect could have hung around in the neighborhood before or after the robbery. 

 Chat with your neighbors even if you do not like their politics. This conversation may just melt the ice and break the partisan divide. 

The public helped Easton Police nab the local domestic hate crime suspect when Easton was plastered and hammered with swastikas and KKK hats threatening Town Council President Frank Gunsallus and insulting his supporters and the entire Easton community leading up to the Town Council elections. 

Hate crime suspect Jennifer Cristaudo was arrested less than a month ago after a search warrant was served. The Easton Police and Talbot County Sheriff’s officers were able to literally seize a trunk load of imported paraphernalia. That suspect will appear in court later this month. 

Now, the police need the public’s help to nab the bank robber in the LIME GREEN baseball hat who was brandishing a gun in Easton. 

The Easton Police arrived at BayVanguard Bank at approximate 2:35 pm Monday. The robber was gone. 

According to the bank employees, the robber is an African-American male wearing a white long sleeve shirt, white pants, black shoes, carrying a black sling bag, lime green baseball hat and wearing sunglasses. 

Look for the LIME hat - may make this easy in the cameras. 

The suspect is somewhere between 5’6” to 6’, thin-build, has a goatee and possibly in his 30’s. 

The suspect approached a  bank teller and demanded money. The suspect then provided the bank teller with a note demanding money and brandished a firearm. The suspect was able to obtain an undisclosed amount of money and fled the bank on foot.  No employees were injured. 

The LIME GREEN HAT BANK ROBBER was last seen running on Idlewild Avenue towards Idlewild Park. 

Officers requested the assistance of the Maryland State Police Crime Scene Unit to assist with processing the crime scene. A Caroline County Sheriff’s Office Deputy and his K-9 conducted a possible track the suspect might have taken. A Special Agent with the FBI also responded to the bank to assist with the investigation. 

Investigators are asking citizens in the community to look at their surveillance cameras to see if the suspect was caught on video.
