Unpopular Measure Which Makes Maryland A One Party State Passes 99-73
A vote by the Maryland House of Delegates approved Democrat Governor Wes Moore's redistricting plan for Maryland. House Bill 488 now moves to the Maryland Senate where many hope it will stall. We reported on this effort by Moore and the Democrats:
On the State's legislative website, testimony against the bill by citizens was 400 opposed to 129 in favor or approximately 76% against the bill. State polls also mirror that number. Here is the way the vote went yesterday:

Delegate Latoya Nkongolo, Republican, chastised the House for spending the first weeks of session focusing on redistricting and other unpopular bills such as the one repealing Maryland's cooperation with ICE under the 287g provision instead of working on lowering utility costs and fees and other affordability issues.
