Today, America First Legal (AFL) released new documents, including a slide deck, it obtained in litigation against the CDC.

The slide deck was presented by the United Kingdom’s Counter Disinformation Unit ("CDU") and detailed its "most effective censorship techniques" for the Biden-Harris National Security Council (NSC) Interagency Policy Committee (IPC) on August 10, 2021.

The recommendations included dedicating a unit for government-wide censorship efforts, regulating how tech companies should handle mis/disinformation, punishing tech companies that ignore government censorship demands, entering into partnerships to flag content, working with similarly aligned governments and multilateral institutions, and countering mis/disinformation with progressive propaganda.

The meeting included representatives from three letter agencies like the CIA and FBI, along with the White House, the State Department, Treasury, Homeland Security, the Defense Department, Health & Human Services, USAID, and even high-ranking officers in the Army, Navy and Air Force.

The CDU's deck detailed how the UK organizes and coordinates to carry out its censorship mission (e.g., covid, elections) with foreign and domestic players.

The CDU would then allegedly coerce social media platforms to implement censorship demands from the UK government. Additionally, the UK government would push other countries, like the US, through foreign policy efforts, to adopt similar censorship plans... because if governments joined together it would further “encourag[e] cooperation from platforms.”

Part of the CDU's deck highlighted the UK's “Counter Disinformation and Media Development Programme,” that ran in Eastern Europe from 2016 to 2021.

This program helped fund the progressive Global Disinformation Index ("GDI"), an organization that assesses disinformation for advertisers based on a radical, left-wing perspective.

You can view the full CDU deck here, but suffice it to say, it reveals the Biden-Harris Administration's left-wing bias when it comes to identifying what is mis/disinformation.

“With no apparent appreciation for the irony that the First Amendment to our Constitution was adopted following our independence from Great Britain, these records show that the Biden-Harris regime apparently engaged with representatives from the United Kingdom on ways to more effectively censor the speech of Americans across the country," said Gene Hamilton, America First Legal Executive Director said.

"The Biden-Harris Administration’s desire to silence speech and control what information Americans are able to obtain is so extreme, so pervasive, and so over-the-top that they are willing to listen to foreign governments explain ways to better violate core constitutional rights of the American people. Freedom of speech is essential to the success of our democratic republic, and for the continued betterment of humanity. We will continue to expose those who oppose free speech, and will continue to fight for the rights of all Americans,” said Hamilton.
