The local chapter of Moms for Liberty will host a school board candidates forum on Monday, September 23, from 7-9 p.m. at the Easton Volunteer Fire Department. All candidates running for the Talbot County Board of Education were invited. Four candidates, Karla Wieland Cherry, District 5, Cynthia Marrah Jurrius, Kerry Gunshenan, District 6, and Ann C. O'Connor, District 2; have all agreed to participate. Candidates Candace Henry, District 2 and Anna Howie did not RSVP.
The forum will consist of each candidate having three minutes to introduce themselves followed by a chance to answer questions submitted ahead of time by members of the audience. Each candidate will be given 3 minutes to answer each question and will have the questions ahead of time. They will answer in a rotating order. After the formal part of the forum is completed, candidates will be able to mingle with the audience.
Attendees are asked to donate school supplies for children in need in the Talbot County Public Schools as their ticket to attend.
