The Talbot Chapter of Moms for Liberty will be hosting a forum for all Talbot County School Board candidates on Monday, September 23, 2024, from 7 -9 p.m. at the Easton Volunteer Fire Department. All six candidates have been invited to participate and four have confirmed attendance.
The format will allow candidates to answer questions regarding their positions on educational issues in Talbot County. Attendees will be able to meet and speak with candidates as well.
" We want this to be a chance for people to get an idea of who is running for school board in their district and the ideas they have for the schools," said Jan Greenhawk, Chair of Moms for Liberty Talbot.
There is no charge to attend but attendees are asked to bring a small donation of unused school supplies.
"We're asking anyone who attends to bring unused school supplies that will be donated to the Talbot County Public Schools to be given to teachers to provide for students who need them," Greenhawk added.
Three districts are up for election this year, District 1, 5, and 6. All races are non-partisan. Running are:
District 1 - Candace Henry, Anne C. O'Connor
District 5 - Anna Howie, Karla Wieland Cherry
District 6 -Kerry Gunshenan, Cynthia Marrah Jurrius
