I was a member of the teacher's union. Initially, I thought it was mandatory to be a member. Later on, I learned the lies that the Unions told me and other teachers in order to keep our membership. They told us if we didn't belong we wouldn't have legal coverage if we were unfairly fired. We were told that the union spoke for US politically. None of that was true.

The biggest lie was that endorsements of candidates, local, statewide and national, were based on the fact that a majority of the union members supported those candidates. Funny thing, I was never asked or polled for my opinion about who I would support for ANY candidate.

The unions both claim they have an "endorsement process" that involves membership, is extensive and examines each candidate's positions on educational issues. One would think that it would take weeks or even months to complete this process, poll membership, and come to a conclusion.

If that is true, then it is bewildering that BOTH unions were able to come out with an endorsement within a week of Kamala becoming the presumptive Democrat candidate. That's some pretty quick consensus building.

Of course, Kamala nearly tripped over herself getting to the convention of the American Federation of Teachers, the nation's second largest teachers union, this past weekend. While there, she delivered a speech lauding her "public school" education and excoriating those EVIL Republicans who dare to fight indoctrination of their children in public schools and ask for school choice.

    Here is Harris's speech:

Remarks by Vice President Harris at the American Federation of Teachers' 88th National Convention | The White House

Some interesting "facts" that Harris presents.

And as you may know, I am a proud product of public education.  Many of you know that my first grade teacher, Mrs. Frances Wilson, God rest her soul, taught me and educated me and encouraged me and inspired me.

I'm not sure the public schools want to know that a person who said something stupid like the following is their product:

And this classic quote about being to the border but not:

    And then this:

And then there's the targeting of those who disagree with her:

In this moment, across our nation, we witness a full-on attack on hard-won, hard-fought freedoms.

While you teach students about democracy and representative government, extremists attack the sacred freedom to vote.

While you try to create safe and welcoming places where our children can learn, extremists attack our freedom to live safe from gun violence.  They have the nerve to tell teachers to strap on a gun in the classroom — while they refuse to pass commonsense gun safety laws.

And while you to teach students about our nation’s past, these extremists attack the freedom to learn and acknowledge our nation’s true and full history — (applause) — including book bans.  Book bans in this year of our Lord 2024.

And on these last two issues — on these a- — last two issues, just think about it.  So, we want to ban assault weapons, and they want to ban books.

    Can you imagine?

All the while, these extremists also attack the freedom to love who you love openly and with pride.  They pass so-called “Don’t Say Gay” laws.

So much for turning down the temperature. I guess that is no longer applicable. Harris lies about voting laws which Republicans want to strengthen to prevent fraud, she lies about gun laws and the intent of allowing teachers to defend themselves and their students and the fact that the second amendment protects many, and finally, book bans. No one wants book bans; they want to keep pornographic materials out of school libraries. And, finally, she once again promotes a lie regarding the "don't say gay" bill in Florida, which is really a law allowing parents to have the right to know and have control over what their children are taught in school.

Mrs. Wilson must be turning over in her grave.

Of course, this speech would appeal to the two leaders shown below:

Here are the people heading these organizations endorsing Harris:

    They almost seem...possessed.

Now wonder they endorse her. They know she will support the outlandish leftist educational agenda they express in their statements. Oh, and it might be that she's going to allow the unions to help her select the Secretary of Education if she is elected. Well, at least the NEA. They must be giving her more money than the AFT.

I'm just wondering how they came out with this endorsement so quickly. If you are a teacher and a member of this organization, you may wish to ask your local or state rep.

It's almost as if they didn't really care what her ideas were as long as she was the most extreme left Democrat available. And she completely fulfills that.

Now if she could teach everyone about Venn Diagrams. I mean, she really, really loves them!
