When Wes Moore (D) was inaugurated as Maryland’s new governor, Oprah Winfrey showed up and praised him by introducing the newly elected head of the state at his gubernatorial inauguration praising him.
She first interviewed Moore in 2010. On January 6, 2021 he called Oprah and told her he wanted to run for governor. Winfrey promised him she would “be there for him.” She called him “wise beyond his years.”
Wonder if Oprah would praise him now knowing what Moore wants to do with Maryland’s budget and taxpayers’ money?
The Maryland General Assembly Joint Republican Caucus has issued their first “Moore Taxes, Moore Fees” report which identifies 338 new or increased taxes and fees since Moore took office last years.
The list spans from increases in car registration fees to new taxes on consumer goods and services to licensing fee increases on professionals.
Even former Governor Martin O’Malley (D), infamous for tax increases like the Rain Tax and automatically-increasing Gas Tax, only increased taxes and fees 84 times during his 8 years in office.
