Hogan Pandering at a recent GAY PRIDE MONTH Parade in Annapolis

It happened at a recent event hosted by the local Republican Central Committee event. Congressman Andy Harris, at some point in his speech, told the crowd they had to hold their noses and vote for Larry Hogan for Senate. He gave all kinds of reasons. Hogan is Republican. We need a Republican majority in the Senate. Hogan did some good things in Maryland. Hogan was a Governor in a blue state.
In my mind, those reasons are weak and pointless. They ignore the elephant in the room (pun intended). Larry Hogan is not Conservative. He's not even to the right side of moderate. Larry Hogan is a man who plays for the political party of himself.
When he was first elected as Governor in Maryland, Larry portrayed himself as a "businessman" who would not be political. He spoke of bringing businesses that had been driven out by the O'Malley regime back to Maryland. He promised lower taxes, restoration of gun rights, better schools, more streamlined state agency services, and lower bridge tolls.
He failed on all but a couple of those promises. Every time he did, he excessively whined that he was outnumbered in the legislature. Many times, he didn't even veto laws because he knew the veto would be overturned. It was the ultimate in waving the white flag before the battle begins.
But, for the most part, I still supported him. He did lower tolls. He did cut spending. Heck, I even ran with his group "Hogan Strong" during the Bay Bridge run while he was undergoing cancer treatment. I voted for the man twice. I thought that having a second term would make him stronger.
Silly me. I didn't realize that we hadn't seen the real face of Larry Hogan yet.
In 2015, while the City of Baltimore burned down during the Freddie Gray riots, Hogan stood by and did his best Pontious Pilate impression; washing his hands of the whole affair by refusing to send in National Guard because Mayor Stephanie Rawlings Blake told him "No." He seemed to have forgotten that Baltimore was in fact in Maryland.
But during the Covid "pandemic" was when Larry truly exposed himself for what and who he is. First, it was the sudden shutdown of all small businesses without a warning or even the semblance that he felt bad about it. Larry the tyrant was flexing his chief executive muscle and telling everybody to suck it up. Meanwhile, big box stores were considered essential and left open with silly measures like social distancing and wearing masks. That was followed by vaccine mandates and the purchase of faulty Korean Covid test kits that could never be used. (But hey, remember how heroic his wife was to get on a plane and fly to Korea? When will we have a state holiday in her honor?)
Who could ever forget him telling us all to "Wear the Damn Mask" during a commercial? Nothing says representing the people of Maryland like swearing at them like some kind of angry prison guard. This was all while he allowed the Maryland Medical System to fire hundreds of nurses and doctors because they wouldn't get the jab.
That wasn't the worst of it. The worst of it was Larry's outright hatred of President Trump, so much so that he pledged to write in Ronald Reagan in the 2020 election. He went on progressive talk show after talk show expressing his hatred over and over. Seemed strange for a man who claimed he was rational. I guess he just liked the publicity and the donuts in the break room. In 2021, Hogan stated that if he had been in the Senate, he would have found Trump guilty in the impeachment trial.
GOP Gov. Larry Hogan: 'I Would Have' Voted to Convict Trump in Trial - Business Insider
Hogan vilified the Republican candidate for Governor, Dan Cox and called him and his supporters, "fringe whackos." All the while he linked arms with Wes Moore, an extremely progressive candidate for Governor.
If that all wasn't enough, Hogan can't seem to figure out where he stands on issues like abortion and expects the Republican Party to support him in his Senate race while he refuses to support the Republican Candidate for President. All the while he is pandering to extremist groups like PFLAG. He clearly wants to be not just a Democrat but a Progressive Democrat at that. He just can't pull the string on that decision.
And then there's that little visit to the WEF in Davos. Hope his speech isn't too exciting for you.
Above: Look at that crowd to see Larry Hogan.
Now Larry expects us all, like good little Republicans, to jump onboard the support wagon for him.
The "threat" is that Angela Alsobrooks will get elected and the Senate will remain in the hands of the Democrats and Schumer. My question is, how will we know the difference? When Republicans have the majority, they are almost worse than the Democrats. At lease we know Democrats hate us and want to destroy the country. Republicans hate us also, but for at least two out of every six years pretend to love us to get themselves elected so they can go back to the Senate, hate us, and continue destroy the country.
Are you listening Mitch McConnell? Mitt Romney? I'm talking about you.
I just can't play that game anymore.
Sorry Larry, this fringe whacko would rather cast her vote for "None of the Above." Tell your lackeys to stop begging and cast your lot with the Democrats who claim to love and adore you. Let me know how that works out.
I have made my decision. I am writing ✍️ in Dan Cox 🇺🇸 🦅
