For 50+ years we conservatives have worked and paid taxes and enjoyed our freedoms, while liberals and socialists have built a government of ideologues that now control all of our institutions and bureaucracies. Never did we suspect that Americans could be swayed into believing that an all-powerful federal government or that one-party rule were good things. We conservatives have dropped the ball. We have allowed our Constitutional individual, local, and state rights and freedoms to be usurped by the federal government. It is now evident that even our judicial system has been infected.
Former President Trump has been hounded since before he first took office, and ever since. The legacy media has been complicit. He is the one greatest threat to the existence of this behemoth of federal government and those who benefit from it. That's why our institutions and bureaucracies have aligned against him.
If you think this is how our government should operate, consider what it would be like when conservatives take power again, as they always have, if they turn our judicial system against those who speak out against them. Perhaps YOU would lose your voice or be hounded by the courts or IRS. They won't, it's not in their nature. Our Constitution is a remarkable blueprint for a stable representative government. It allows us to right wrongs and to adapt to changing times. It deserves to be revered and protected.
If you are a conservative or a moderate, consider joining the Talbot GOP in restoring our Constitutional government as it was intended to be, a federation of states under a federal government with limited powers. Get involved and help us bring sanity back. If you are a liberal who doesn't like the direction you see the country going, ask a conservative what (s)he really believes. The vast majority of us have the same concerns as you do, but different solutions. Try reading some conservative news sources to get a perspective different from the one-sided news you get from the legacy media. Be open. Only after you've heard both sides of an argument can you apply your own common sense and experience to make a rational judgement. If you still disagree, we can try to build on the ground of our common concerns.
