The FBI boarded the container ship Dali on Monday, April 15, as they initiated a joint criminal investigation with the Coast Guard into what caused last month's container ship collision with the Key Bridge in Baltimore, causing its destruction and the death of six workers. Three of those workers' bodies have yet to be found. The agencies are also investigating the actions of the crew who failed to report an earlier problem with the ship that delayed its departure.
“The FBI is present aboard the cargo ship Dali conducting court authorized law enforcement activity,” the agency announced.
The Mayor of Baltimore, Brandon Scott, issued a statement Monday, April 15 regarding the collision that also brought work at the Port of Baltimore to a halt. "Today, the City of Baltimore announced a partnership with the national complex issues and trial firm DiCello-Levitt and Philadelphia law firm Saltz, Mongeluzzi, and Bendesky Trial Lawyers to launch legal action to hold the wrongdoers responsible and to mitigate the immediate and long-term harm caused to Baltimore City residents."
The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the events that precipitated the 213-million-pound ship to lose power and crash into the 47-year-old bridge. The probe has been focused on engine room equipment. They are focusing on electronic systems of the ship and are working with Hyundai, the South Korean manufacturer of the engine.
The Army Corps of Engineers has been working on deepening and widening the shipping channel at the bridge site as debris is being removed. They estimate work will reopen the channel by the end of May.
Yea right gmafb - the FBI will get to the bottom of this?
Luckily, we know our Federal government never lies to us.
Well, I was this many years old when I figured out the FIB also enjoyed Joe Biden's proclivity at disappearing when any crisis pops up. Man, these guys have it made. Plenyty of time to destroy any solid evidence. Seem to be the norm, nowadays.
I agree. They most likely went to destroy evidence!
