Devon Archer, Hunter Biden’s former business partner, delivered bombshell contradicting testimony to Joe Biden’s statements as a Vice-Presidential candidate in 2020, and now as President of the United States, with no other conclusion other than Joe Biden now may have a major credibility issue, furthering the expansion of the Oversight Committee’s investigation, as some Republicans are moving closer to impeaching Joe Biden.
Archer told lawmakers and their staff on Monday that Burisma Holdings pressured Hunter Biden in December 2015 to address the dilemma they found themselves in with a Ukrainian prosecutor investigating Burisma for corruption right before then Vice-President Joe Biden took the unusual steps to get the Ukrainian prosecutor fired.
Subsequently, Joe Biden bragged about his action publicly at the Council on Foreign Relations.
Archer also testified that Hunter Biden was put on Burisma's board of directors in 2014 because of his family's "brand" while the company was facing corruption allegations from the United States, Great Britain and Ukraine's own prosecutor.
"Devon Archer testified that the value of adding Hunter Biden to Burisma’s board was 'the [Biden] brand' and confirmed that then-Vice President Joe Biden brought the most value to ‘that brand.’ Archer also stated that Burisma would have gone under if not for 'the brand."
Archer also contradicted Joe Biden's claims he never met with Hunter Biden's foreign business associates. Archer told the committee Joe Biden was put on speakerphone calls more than 20 times with Hunter’s business clients.
"In December 2015, Mykola Zlochevsky, the owner of Burisma, and Vadym Pozharski, an executive of Burisma, placed constant pressure on Hunter Biden to get help from D.C. regarding the Ukrainian prosecutor, Viktor Shokin," attested Archer. "Shokin was investigating Burisma for corruption. Hunter Biden, along with Zlochevsky and Pozharski, 'called D.C.' to discuss the matter. Biden, Zlochevsky, and Pozharski stepped away to take make the call."
Immediately following that interaction, Vice-President Joe Biden visited Ukraine as vice and took measures to force the firing of Viktor Shokin by threatening to withhold $1 billion in U.S. loan guarantees if the Ukrainians did not follow Joe Biden’s demand.
Archer also testified that in spring of 2014, then-Vice President Biden attended a business dinner with his son, Hunter, and his business associates at Café Milano in Washington, D.C., where the Russian oligarch Elena Baturina attended.
Congressman Dan Goldman (D-NY) recalled Archer’s recollection that he spoke with Hunter Biden every day.
Joe Biden and his aides have frequently said that Joe Biden called his children and grandchildren daily.
Nevertheless, Goldman, a former prosecutor, tried to deflect Hunter Biden’s calls to his father when he was at dinner with business associates. Seemingly, a protective spin of deflection to Archer’s statements now under oath.
"He approximated that about 20 times over the course of his 10-year business relationship that he had with Hunter Biden, which would be about twice a year, that Hunter would put his father on speakerphone with whomever was at dinner — and there was no indication that he had any idea who was at dinner with them," stated Goldman in reference Archer's testimony.
The question now on the table is - Is Goldman’s deflection a plausible deflection, hoping to be a denial to Archer’s testimony?
